PUEBLO LOPEZ is a lovely urbanisation built by Bryan Hindson, a very well-known local character (better known to his Spanish friends as "Juanito Lopez") who sadly passed away in 1993. He conceived and constructed PUEBLO LOPEZ in 1965/67, first of the "Pueblos" to be built on the Costa del Sol.
Now, so many years after its completion, PUEBLO LOPEZ is still referred to by the Spanish people as "El Pueblo Andaluz" and retains all its original charm. Fuengirola owes Bryan Hindson a great debt of gratitude for his creativity and foresight.
Bryan Hindson's creation, PUEBLO LOPEZ is still seen as the prototype of the pueblo style of development which has been copied many times throughout southern Spain.
As Bryan used to say, PUEBLO LOPEZ has been built in the original Andalusian style and not as a modernistic card-board replica. It is a town in itself and an oasis of peace and tranquillity in Fuengirola, maintaining the tradition of an Andalusian Pueblo.
It is not a foreigner's ghetto but a gathering of people of all nationalities including many Spaniards.
